N.E.W. Academy of Science and Arts (NASA) is a TK-5 independent charter school. N.E.W. Academy of Science and Arts exists to assist students from our community in grades TK-5 in achieving academic success. NASA follows the vision of creating innovative child centered learning, and instruction that embraces the community as a foundation, to teach and create lifelong learners, and confident global leaders, for the 21st century, through an emphasis in the arts and sciences. Our mission also includes creating a child-centered, multilingual environment where students are able to work cooperatively, become self-directed, think critically, develop self-esteem and self-assurance, and have respect for cultural diversity.

Standard Based

NASA utilizes a standards based curriculum based on the California Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in Math, English Language Arts.

Additionally for our English Learners we follow the California English Language Development Standards (ELD) that boost the California State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects (ELA/Literacy).
