My memories from N.E.W. Academy of Science and Art (NACP) are great ones. My teachers were always loving, caring and taught us the importance of respect. They made us see the good side of making mistakes and encouraged us to learn. I still remember in kindergarten when my teacher named Miss Guzman got me and a couple of other students in trouble for talking back to her. I wasn’t always on my best behavior when I was younger, but at a young age from Miss Guzman, I learned that bad behavior led to consequences. That has really stuck with me since. I learned from my teachers, my parents, and my fellow students that everyone deserves respect.
My favorite subject in elementary school was math because it always came easily to me. Since it was a subject we did every day at school, I found myself quickly finishing the tasks assigned. My teachers taught me to help those students around me who needed help. Not only was I allowed to help others, but I was also more comfortable asking for help in other subjects that didn’t come as easily to me. We as students learned how to work as a team in the classroom, and help each other with our weaknesses in order to succeed.
N.E.W. Academy of Science and Art (NACP) was the right choice for me. Not only was I able to learn academically, but I also learned valuable lessons that have helped me since graduating. It was a space for me to be able to learn, feel welcome, and have friends. I was able to see my improvement in myself. I take my lessons from NACP with me wherever I go.

Lo que Aprendí en la Escuela Primaria de N.E.W. Academy of Science and Art
Mis recuerdos de la escuela N.E.W. Academy of Science and Art (NACP) son excelentes. Mis maestros siempre fueron amorosos, cariñosos y nos enseñaron la importancia del respeto. Nos hicieron ver el lado bueno de cometer errores y nos animaron a aprender. Todavía recuerdo en kinder, cuando mi maestra llamada la señorita Guzmán me metió a mí y a un par de estudiantes más en problemas por contestarle mal. No siempre me comporté de la mejor manera cuando era más joven, pero a una edad temprana gracias a la señorita Guzmán, aprendí que el mal comportamiento tiene consecuencias. Eso realmente se me ha quedado grabado desde entonces. Aprendí de mis maestros, mis padres y mis compañeros de estudios que todos merecen respeto.
Mi materia favorita en la escuela primaria fue matemáticas porque siempre me resultó fácil. Como era una asignatura que hacíamos todos los días en la escuela, se me hacía fácil terminar rápidamente las tareas asignadas. Mis maestros me enseñaron a ayudar a los estudiantes, que necesitaban ayuda. No solo me permitió ayudar a los demás, sino que también me sentí más cómoda pidiendo ayuda en otros temas que no me resultaban tan fáciles. Nosotros, como estudiantes aprendimos a trabajar en equipo en el aula y nos ayudamos unos a otros con nuestras debilidades para tener éxito. La escuela N.E.W. Academy of Science and Art (NACP) fue la elección correcta para mí. No solo pude aprender académicamente, sino que también aprendí lecciones valiosas que me han ayudado desde que me gradué. Fue un espacio para poder aprender a sentirse bienvenido y tener amigos. Pude ver mi mejoría en mí misma. Me llevo las lecciones de NACP a donde quiera que vaya.
