New Academy Canoga Park (NACP), is a public school but in my opinion, it is very unique, and that is why I would recommend it to any parent who is looking for a new elementary school for their children. Firstly, their classrooms and shared spaces for meetings and assemblies are well organized, I love the classrooms, the patio, and the staff has always been very friendly as well.
The staff makes me feel like I am at home; parents have a parent center, we have the principal who gives us attention and values communication with us. So it is a school that makes us feel like family, and I would recommend them because the school takes us into account. And if you are interested in your children learning both languages, it would be a good option for them, and I recommend it.
What makes the school special is the leadership of the principal, staff, and teachers. Everyone works together for the future of the students. They have motivated me to be part of a community of parents within the school. The school helped me create this environment and shows me that they value relationships with parents. The simple fact that it has a parent center where they offer many workshops that help us with our children is important to me. They always take us into account when they are going to offer new workshops. They give us the option to vote, and for me, it is very unique.
With the workshops, I have learned that as a mother, my presence in everything academic is essential and not to leave the sole obligation to the teachers. They have taught me how to help with homework and ask for help when I don’t understand what they are learning. These workshops help in communication with my children because they know that I am always involved.
I wanted to get involved in the parent group because this is also an example for my children. They teach us to get involved at school and with the community which is nice as a parent. It helps us socialize, and open our minds, and it helps us be better, and as parents, we are taken into account. It makes me feel happy and very important.

New Academy Canoga Park (NACP) es una escuela pública en mi opinión es muy singular y por esta razón la recomendaría a cualquier padre que esté buscando una nueva escuela primaria para sus hijos. En primer lugar, sus aulas y espacios compartidos para reuniones y asambleas están bien organizados, me encantan las aulas, el patio y el personal siempre ha sido muy amable también.
El personal me hace sentir como en casa; los padres tenemos un centro para padres, tenemos un director que nos presta atención y valora la comunicación con nosotros. Entonces es una escuela que nos hace sentir en familia, y la recomiendo porque la escuela nos toma en cuenta. Y si te interesa que tus hijos aprendan ambos idiomas, sería una buena opción para ellos.
Lo que hace que la escuela sea especial es el liderazgo del director, el personal y los maestros. Todos trabajamos juntos por el futuro de los estudiantes, me han motivado a ser parte de una comunidad de padres dentro de la escuela. La escuela me ayudó a crear este entorno y me muestra que valoran la relación con los padres. El simple hecho de que tenga un centro de padres donde ofrecen muchos talleres que nos ayudan con nuestros hijos es importante para mí. Siempre nos toman en cuenta cuando van a ofrecer nuevos talleres. Nos dan la opción de votar y para mí, es algo único.
Con los talleres he aprendido que como madre, mi presencia en todo lo académico es fundamental y no dejar la obligación sólo a los profesores. Me han enseñado a ayudar con la tarea y a pedir ayuda cuando no entiendo lo que están aprendiendo. Estos talleres ayudan en la comunicación con mis hijos, porque saben que siempre estoy involucrada.
Quería involucrarme en el grupo de padres porque este también es un ejemplo para mis hijos. Nos enseñan a involucrarnos en la escuela y con la comunidad que es agradable como padre. Nos ayuda a socializar, a abrir la mente, a ser mejores y como padres, se nos toma en cuenta. Me hace sentir feliz y muy importante.
