At NEW Academy Science and Arts, we believe in providing students with opportunities to explore their interests and talents beyond the traditional classroom setting. Our enrichment programs are designed to ignite curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning. We collaborate with a variety of partners to offer a wide array of activities that cater to the diverse needs and aspirations of our students.
Partners/Organizations Offering Programs:
Sylvan Learning: Sylvan offers personalized tutoring in core academic areas such as math, reading, and writing, using tailored learning plans to meet individual student needs. The program helps improve grades, build confidence, and develop critical thinking skills.
BAM! Brains & Motion Education: BAM! integrates physical activity with educational learning, encouraging students to develop both their bodies and minds. This program enhances cognitive function through movement, promoting better focus and academic performance.
New Economics for Women’s Learning Center: This center provides educational resources and empowerment programs for women and families, focusing on economic independence and career growth. Students and families benefit from life skills training, financial literacy, and community support.
LMU IDEAL Tech Academy: Loyola Marymount University’s Tech Academy introduces kids to digital citizenship, coding, robotics, and other technology-related subjects through interactive workshops. Students benefit by developing problem-solving skills and preparing for future careers in STEM fields.
Zooga Yoga: Zooga Yoga offers fun, interactive yoga classes designed specifically for children, promoting physical fitness and mindfulness. Benefits include improving flexibility, reducing stress, and fostering mental focus and emotional well-being.
Creating Creators: Creating Creators provides students with opportunities to explore filmmaking, storytelling, and digital media. The program nurtures creativity, collaboration, and technical skills, empowering students to express their voices through the arts.
Metro GoPass: The GoPass program offers students unlimited access to public transit, making school commutes easier and more affordable. It fosters independence, reduces transportation barriers, and encourages eco-friendly habits.
